Eco Analysis

See which species have been recorded around a site, and how much carbon its plants take up each year.

Where the numbers come from

Species
Sightings shared by Taiwan's biodiversity research network (TBiA), checked against the national species list (TaiCOL) for conservation status. If TBiA is unavailable, the global GBIF records are used instead.
Plant growth
NASA satellite estimates of how much carbon plants absorb in a year, added up over the search area.
Very busy areas
Where records run into the tens of thousands, the search stops after 40,000 records or once new records stop adding species. The record count is still exact, but a few rarely seen species may be missing; those sites are marked.
